Bubble Scopes

These wonderful Scopes use a thin film of detergent, a soap bubble if you like, as the Object. They are about as complex as a Scope can get, with mechanical contrivances to make bubbles, electronic circuits to run the LEDs, and lenses and screens to produce breathtakingly symmetrical and fabulous images. The mechanism provides a way of creating a soap membrane on the frame inside the Ball. At just the right angle, the light is refracted into the rainbow, but rather than being static like a rainbow, the bubble swirls and pulses - wildly energetic at first, then serene and peaceful as the detergent falls. The films can last for up to an hour, but sometimes only a few minutes, it's out of human control, and isn't that what kaleidoscopes are all about? We didn't put any of the colours in here, but they are some of the most vibrant and extreme images you will ever see. People say ' there are colours here I didn't know existed '. What a thing to say !!! And then, later, the film can become so thin that there appear to be holes in it, and so the images become black and white, with shots of colour swimmimg through. No other kaleidoscope can have it's objects change colour like this, because there are no objects, this is the fragmentation of light itself.
The very embodyment of a kaleidoscope.
One of the nice things about it is that from the outside, you really can't see much. That's because the kaleidoscope occupies the central position, the box seat if you like. The internal secrets are reserved for those who look within ......

Here is a short

Movie

of a Bubble Scope's images. Bear in mind it's very compressed ....

This is Iris. She features all of the best features of the last 10 years of Bubble Scope development. Large Ball, LED powered with supplied power adaptor, and just stunning images.
The metal components are powder coated for durability.
Each one is a ' One of a Kind ' Scope with regard to the externals, though some things are the same, being dictated by such invariables as focal lengths, refractive angles and, of course, mirrors.
